Your Questions, Answered
Clear answers to common questions about pricing, cleanup, scope, and how our service works.
-
Our services are primarily centered around QuickBooks Online. We also work with other major platforms after review, depending on the software, workflow, and scope involved.
-
Essential Bookkeeping is designed for businesses that need clean monthly bookkeeping without higher-detail operational support. This generally includes monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, transaction categorization, standard monthly financial statements, and month-end review.
-
Operations Bookkeeping includes everything in Essential, plus more detailed monthly bookkeeping for businesses with invoicing activity, payroll balances, sales tax balances, and more involved workflows. This may include deposit matching to invoices and/or sales receipts, bill and expense matching where applicable, accounts receivable and payable review, payroll liability reconciliation, and sales tax liability reconciliation.
-
Premium Detail Bookkeeping includes everything in Operations, plus stronger documentation standards and a more controlled monthly close process. This may include receipt attachment policies for qualifying transactions, documentation review, higher-detail monthly close procedures, more proactive issue flagging, and stronger bookkeeping file hygiene.
-
No. Bookkeeping services do not include tax advice, tax strategy, or tax return filing unless separately stated and lawfully offered.
-
Yes. Financial records and reports can be maintained in a way that supports year-end handoff to your outside tax preparer. This does not include tax advice or tax return filing.
-
Basic 1099-related tracking assistance may be available, and more detailed hands-on guidance may be available in higher tiers or as an add-on, depending on scope. Any filing support would need to be reviewed separately.
Bookkeeping FAQ
-
Our monthly bookkeeping plans start at the pricing shown on the website, but final pricing is based on a bookkeeping assessment. Final pricing depends on factors such as transaction volume, number of accounts, payroll and sales tax complexity, transaction matching needs, documentation requirements, and the overall condition of the books.
-
The starting price reflects the base level for that tier. After the bookkeeping assessment, a final quote is provided based on the actual scope and complexity of the work.
-
Monthly services are billed in advance on the first of each month. Payment is due before services for that month begin.
-
Yes. Autopay may be offered as an option. Advance invoicing with due-on-receipt terms may also be used, depending on the engagement.
-
No services will be performed for that billing period until payment is received. If payment is delayed, that month’s work will be paused until the account is brought current.
-
Yes. Final monthly pricing is based on the agreed scope at onboarding. If the workload increases due to higher transaction volume, added accounts, cleanup issues, reporting demands, added integrations, payroll or sales tax complexity, or expanded service needs, pricing may be reviewed and adjusted under the signed service agreement.
Pricing FAQ
-
If your books are 1 to 3 months behind, that is generally considered catch-up work. Catch-up is handled in chronological order so your books can be brought current before regular monthly service is fully underway.
-
If your books are 4 or more months behind, or if the records require more significant correction, reconstruction, or rework, that is generally considered cleanup rather than standard ongoing monthly bookkeeping.
-
Catch-up and cleanup work are priced separately from ongoing monthly bookkeeping. Pricing depends on how many months are involved and which monthly bookkeeping tier your business falls into: Essential, Operations, or Premium Detail.
-
Not always. If your books are current and in good condition, monthly service may begin without catch-up or cleanup. If the books are behind or need correction, catch-up or cleanup may need to be completed first so the monthly service can start from a reliable foundation.
-
Yes. Depending on scope and availability, one-time catch-up, cleanup, review, and special bookkeeping projects may be offered separately from ongoing monthly service.
